Flooring Repair

Water damage, buckled boards, loose seams, pet damage, failed transitions. If it can be saved, we will tell you — and if it cannot, we will tell you that too.

Most flooring companies do not want repair work. It is small, it is fussy, and it does not sell a whole-house job. We take it, because a repair customer with a good experience is a whole-house customer three years later.

It also means you get an honest answer. Sometimes the right call is a $400 repair, not a $6,000 replacement, and you should hear that from the person holding the tools.

Water damage

A dishwasher leak, a burst pipe, an overflowing washer. Often the damage is confined to a few boards or one section, and a targeted repair beats a full replacement. The critical part is confirming the subfloor underneath is dry and sound before anything new goes down.

Buckling and cupping

Usually a symptom, not the problem. Hardwood buckles because of moisture or because it was installed with no expansion room. Fixing the boards without finding the cause guarantees you do it again.

Pet and traffic damage

Scratched hardwood, stained carpet, chewed transitions. Board replacement, carpet patching from a closet or remnant, and re-stretching.

Loose seams and transitions

Lifting vinyl edges, separating carpet seams and thresholds that have come free — all quick fixes that get worse and more expensive the longer they are walked on.

Common questions

Repairs — straight answers.

Do you take small jobs?

Yes. One room, one hallway, a few boards. Plenty of contractors will not, and that is exactly why we do.

Can you match flooring that is no longer made?

Sometimes. Discontinued lines can occasionally be sourced, and older hardwood can be matched by species and width. If a perfect match is not realistic, we will say so and suggest an approach — like a deliberate transition at a doorway — that looks intentional instead of patched.

Is my floor worth repairing?

That depends on how much life is left in the rest of it. We will look and give you a straight answer, including when replacement is genuinely the better use of your money.

Is the installation warrantied?

Yes. Every installation we do carries a one-year workmanship warranty. If something we installed fails because of how it was installed, we come back and fix it. Manufacturer defects are covered separately by the product warranty, and we will help you file that claim.

“He is an honest flooring contractor and works hard to get the job done, no matter the request. He travels too — jobs spanning from the Poconos to the shore. The most competitive pricing in the Philadelphia area.”

— Brendan Worton · Google review

“Mike has done several rooms in our home and each one was a stellar job. Highly recommend As Good As It Gets. Mike will be doing our plank floor in our sunroom this fall.”
